With much excitement and anticipation, Rose Hill Preservation & Restoration, INC is pleased to announce the creation of The Rose Hill Cemetery 1840 Illustrated Map! NOW AVAILABLE FOR ADVANCE ORDERS! (See Below) The purchase price of the map or flat poster version, and we cannot stress this enough, but 100% of the proceeds will benefit projects at Rose Hill Cemetery 1840! What more incentive does one need?
This long overdue project was conceived by RHPR's organizational Founder/Director, Joey Fernandez who wanted not just a basic map, not just his previous Allman Brothers' Map, but a complete, comprehensive, informative map that would cover all sections of the cemetery and would educate users on many levels while offering them something so high quality & durable, they would have an unforgettable keepsake! But most importantly, a fundraising tool which would enable the organization to acquire tools, materials, offer more classes & tours, and of course, all for the sake of tackling the ongoing demands of Rose Hill Cemetery 1840! Your continued support is what makes all of this possible.
The preliminary mock-ups for the map as it continues through the design process.
The Making of A Map - No Easy Task, But Great Talent Helps!
Enlisting the aide of RHPR's Director of Information & Tours, Shannon Scott, who previously made maps for his own publishing company and consulted on the production of The Bonaventure Cemetery Illustrated Map in 2015, they went to renowned novelist, map maker, and treasure hunter, Michael Karpovage of Karpovage Creative in Roswell, Georgia. Shannon and Michael previously collaborated in the development of the Bonaventure Cemetery map, as well as both haunted and historical city maps of Savannah. Michael has made maps for city governments, museums, aquariums, college campuses, and even Metallica! He's unquestionably one of the most recognized map makers in the USA and currently has the biggest-selling map of Boston, MA on Amazon.com! See www.karpovagecreative.com to learn more.
With Rose Hill having so many layers, hills, and other hidden vestiges, the challenge to create a true-to-life, but “flat” user-friendly map with hand-illustrated and other graphic design aspects has been a feat worthy of the history books! Karpovage, along with noted Georgia photographer, Michael Grafton, captured Rose Hill Cemetery 1840 using professional drones in combination with satellite maps for the production itself and in combination with 1000s of photographs of monuments to then be hand illustrated by Michael Karpovage, which creates the “signature look” of Michael's maps. There may be imitators out there, but it is impossible to mistake a Michael Karpovage original! Where Michael has particularly blessed Rose Hill Cemetery 1840 & Macon, Georgia itself, is the “gift” of this map in terms of literally gifting it to RHPR to be used exclusively for fundraising purposes!

And of course, this isn't just a physical map but will feature historical figures from all of the Allman Brothers related icons from Rose Hill Cemetery 1840 designer, Simri Rose, to important men & women of faith, fortune, naturally highlighting early Macon founders, veterans, industrialists, actors, artists, business people, unique personalities and not to mention, an assortment of famous pets! Additionally, the Rose Hill Cemetery 1840 Illustrated Map will contain a cemetery symbols glossary and a list of important Cemetery Rules and Regulations.
Be some of the very first to advance order this important map (4x9) or poster version (18x24) and receive yours no later than January 1, 2026, with possible early delivery! You can find the pre-order page here.
